Punjab Management Entrance Test 2013 Notification by PTU, Jalandhar | CMAT 2013

Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar, Punjab issued Notification for Admission to MBA Courses in Punjab-2013. Punjab Government has decided to make admisions to MBA Courses being conducted in its affiliated colleges through CMAT-2013 from this year conducted by AICTE CMAT shall be conducted by AICTE twice a year.

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national Level entrance exam. AICTE decided to conduct CMAT twice in a year and students can sit for both the exams. It will be beneficial for the students because they can choose their best score while taking admission in any B school. The test will be conducted in different states and cities.

Qualification: Candidate should be a graduate in any discipline. Final Year students can also apply. 

How to Apply for CMAT 2013: Eligible candidates sould apply ONLINE through http://www.aicte-cmat.in/ Application fee can be paid using both online and offline mode.

Pay Traffic Challan ONLINE in Jalandhar

Pay Traffic Challan ONLINE Jalandhar: Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini launched the facility of online payment of traffic challans/online appointment for foreign nationals regarding registration work and also introduced a revitalized beat system in two police stations of Jalandhar Police Commissionerate.

Police commissioner Gaurav Yadav said the online traffic challan payment system would obviate the need for citizens to visit the traffic office/saanjh kendra/DTO office for compounding of traffic offences or the courts for payment of fines. "The online payment window would operate in two ways -- firstly, acceptance of payments by credit/debit cards, and, secondly, direct online payments through electronic transfers," Yadav informed. He clarified that this facility of online traffic challan payment would be available only for the compoundable challans and would not available for the non-compoundable challans and sticker challans.

CNG City buses for Jalandhar, Ludhiana

Punjab government has decided to run CNG buses in Ludhiana and Jalandhar to provide environment-friendly transport facilities to commuters and reduce pollution levels. State minister Bhagat Chunni Lal said these CNG vehicles will be run as city buses and the state government has signed an agreement with the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) for the purpose.

LPU annual Culinary Festival “Flavours 2012”

LPU’s School of Hospitality celebrated its annual Culinary Festival “Flavours 2012”, today, to promote “Chef Profession” among young students. The celebration saw the best combo of amazing food, innovative national/international ‘carte du jour’(dishes) and unbelievable group of talented would-be-chefs from competing 20 educational Institutions and universities. During the fest, the budding professional-students were provided a big platform to showcase their culinary skills, which would further motivate them to build strong foundations in Hospitality Industry. For this, a number of competitions like Healthy Breakfast Dish, Innovative Soup with accompaniment, Novel Menu, Creative Dessert and Culinary Quiz were held. Following international rules, the competing students were judged for accuracy of recipe, presentation/balance, taste, technique/skill, creativity, hygiene & use of indigenous ingredients.

Rwanda's Ambassador visit LPU, Jalandhar

On special visit to the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana, Rwanda’s Ambassador His Excellency Mr Williams Nkurunziza visited Lovely Professional University, today.   On reaching LPU, His Excellency Mr Williams Nkurunziza, who was accompanied by 2nd Counsellor Mr Mucyo Rutishisha, was warmly welcomed by LPU Vice Chancellor Dr Ramesh Kanwar, for valuable discourse.  As part of the visit, His Excellency Mr Williams Nkurunziza met more than 200 Rwandan students, who are getting education at LPU under different study programmes like Computer Applications/Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Economics, and Pharmacy etc.  The Ambassador also enjoyed the opportunity to visit the 9 storey Central Library, Student Resource Centre, hostels and laboratories of the university.
His Excellency Mr Williams Nkurunziza was highly impressed with the facilities & education support being provided to the students of his country. He got emotional when students presented their National Anthem-“Rwanda Nziza Gihugu Cyacu, Wuje imisozi, lbiyaga n’ lbirunga”, which means “Beautiful Rwanda, our country; adorned of hills, lakes and volcanoes”. During interaction with students, he heard them keenly and was very happy to note the oneness of the students with the culture of India and the Punjab State: “India is a great country and you are lucky to receive education in a country which is going to be number one economy of the world. I want you to absorb the greatness of India’s culture, civilization and the working pattern which have made it the best place in the world.
