Two Presidents of two great nations, India & Afghanistan to visits Jalandhar on 3rd Convocation of LPU, Phagwara (Jalandhar) on 20th May, 2013. President of Afghanistan Mr. Hamid Karzai would be conferred on LPU's first ever Honoris Causa Degree and the Chief Guest of the Convocation will be the President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.
Mr Hamid Karzai, President of Afghanistan would be receiving University’s first Honoris Causa degree. Even the Afghan students studying in the campus are very excited to see their President face to face.
Talking to Media, LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal said, today, that “it is very inspirational to inform that 3rd Convocation of LPU is poised to go bigger as two Presidents of two great nations, India and Afghanistan, are going to share the dais in the region for the first time. In order to accord befitting welcome to these two magnanimous personalities, President of India Pranab Mukherjee and President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, and to accommodate more than ten thousand guests, students and their parents grand preparations are near completion. Specially erected massive podium on distinct huge Pandal is getting finishing touches with all necessary requirements, keeping in view the safety, security and comforting arrangements.”
