Factory building collapse in Jalandhar, 2 dead, many injured

In a tragic incident of a four storey building of a factory named Sheetal Fibers in Jalandhar, 2 People dead while more than 100 injured while many reported to be still buried in the debris of the factory.  The district administration had confirmed two deaths of workers named Soru of UP, presently he was living in a rented room in focal point and Mukesh, a resident of Bihar while more death poll may rise  The administration has also said that more than 50 injured workers had been rescued so far and had been admitted into Sri Devi Talab Mandir Charitable Hospital being run by the Sri Devi Talab Mandir Management Committee, headed by Sheetal Vij, owner of the factory. The rescue teams comprising Indian Army, ITBP, BSF, National Disaster Response Force, Volunteers of the Shah Satnam Green Welfare Force Sirsa in Haryana besides the local police and the medical authorities are putting in strenuous efforts to rescue the workers trapped in the debris. But the chances of most of them of coming out alive seem to be bleak.  At the time of the building was caved in, more than 150 workers were present in the premises of the factory.
Divisional Commissioner,Jalandhar, Anurag Verma had been directed to hold inquiry in to the tragic incident of a mishap occurred due to the collapsing of a four storey building of a factory in the focal point claiming the life of two workers and injuring more than sixty workers extracted so far from the debris of the building. Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who is away in Mumbai has also announced an ex-gratia grant of Rs. 2 lakh for the next kins of the killed workers besides free treatment for the injured.
