Progressive Punjab Investors Summit 2013 will be held on 9th, 10th December 2013 at ISB Campus, Mohali (Punjab). BSNL Jalandhar opens new CSC at MTS Nagar

The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) has opened a Customer Service Centre at MTS Nagar office, Opposite Tehsil Complex in Jalandhar. The General Manager of BSNL, Jalandhar, S.K. Nigam, inaugurated the centre. The CSC, functioning on the basis of single-window concept, would offer a range of services to the subscribers. The payment of cell phone and landline bills will be accepted. People could obtain new phone connections. The CSC will also sell all types of prepaid re-charge coupons, top-up cards, India Telephone Cards (ITCs) and Sanchar Net cards. Applications forms for various services can also be obtained from the CSC.
It was long pending demands for people visiting Tehsil, DC Office and MTS Nagar that even after being one of biggest office in Jalandhar, MTS Nagar exchange do not have CSC to pay bills and get new connections except landline. Now customers can Book New Landline, Broadband, Mobile connection and recharge phones from MTS Nagar exchange from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Duplicate bills, application forms for new lines/shifting phones, India Telephone Cards, and information about telecom matters are available at the centre.

Pakistan orders judicial inquiry into Sarabjit's death

Pakistani authorities has ordered a judicial inquiry into the murder of Indian death row convict Sarabjit Singh, who died after being comatose for nearly a week following an assault by other inmates of Kot Lakhpat Jail. Najam Sethi, the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab province, ordered the judicial inquiry on Thursday. He directed officials to ensure that the probe was completed in 15 days. "Chief Minister Najam Sethi has directed the Home Department to prepare terms of reference for a judicial inquiry into the murder of Sarabjit Singh. The inquiry would be completed within 15 days," a Punjab government spokesman said.
Sarabjit, 49, died at Jinnah Hospital at about 1 a.m. local time, officials said. He had been in a deep coma since he was assaulted by at least six prisoners within his barrack at Kot Lakhpat Jail on Friday.
