In a tragic accident today, 11 children have died after the school bus they were travelling in collided with a truck in village Gahir in Jalandhar district this morning. The driver of the bus also died in the accident. At least 13 others have been reportedly injured in the accident and were taken to the Jalandhar Civil Hospital. There were at least 35 children in the bus who were on their way to their school. The police are trying to ascertain the cause of the head-on collision. "The mishap took place at 8am in Jaheera village when the bus of Akal Academy was taking students to the school," Jalandhar Rural SP (D) Rajinder Singh said to PTI.
